A quick hello from our parish community.
You don’t need to know what to do — just come.
First time visiting St John’s or St Mary Magdalene’s? Here’s what to expect.
Whether you are new to the area, returning to the Church, or exploring the Catholic faith, we are delighted to welcome you! Here’s what to expect when you visit.
Quick Guide
When to arrive
Arriving about 10 minutes before Mass gives you time to find a seat, settle in, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.
Where to sit
There are no reserved seats—sit anywhere you feel comfortable. If you’re unsure, our welcome team will be happy to guide you. Families often sit near the front for Children’s Liturgy, and there’s space for prams and wheelchairs.
What happens to my children during Mass?
You’re welcome to keep little ones with you, or use our two Cosy Corners (beanbags, books, quiet toys). During Sunday Mass, children are invited to join Children’s Liturgy (stories and crafts).
Children aren’t a distraction — they are a blessing and a vital part of our parish family.
How long is Mass?
Sunday Mass: around 1 hour (sometimes up to 1 hour 10 minutes)
Weekday Mass: around 30–35 minutes (quieter, more reflective)
